About Ian
Ian Miyasaki caught the “golf bug” after participating in a Junior Golf Camp at Glenmoor Golf Club in June of 2020. From that week on, he has worked really hard on his game and improved impressively quick. In November 2020, he had is first hole-in-one (hole #3, Glenmoor Golf Club). In January 2021 he had his first round in the 70’s, from the men’s tees, and his first Albatross (hole #5, Glenmoor Golf Club.) Within his first year of playing he qualified for the US Kids World Championship at Pinehurst. In 2022, he won the Optimist qualifier in Utah and played in the Optimist World Championships at Trump National in Miami Florida where he made the cut and finished at T-66.
Ian’s goal is to play for a Division I college and pursue his education while working on his dream of playing on the PGA Tour. Ian is a dedicated, smart, kind, and hard-working kid. While he has a highly competitive personality and always wants to win every time he tee’s it up, he also really enjoys building friendships with those he plays with.
Winning the 2023 Glenmoor Club Championship (Champ Flight), is his favorite win he has had. Being a 15-year-old, playing against older players, some of whom played college golf, and coming out with the win showed he him he can achieve his goals. Coming down the stretch with a one-shot lead, he faced the pressure of finishing strong with a lot of people watching and handled it great.
